She was born in Jamaica, West Indies and moved to the New York City with her family at the age of 10 yrs old. She grew up in New York, where she completed her education. She attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, a 7 yr BS/MD program at City College, a branch of the City University of New York. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine Degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. She completed her residency at the Mount Sinai Family Practice Program at Jamaica Hospital, where she served as a chief resident during her 3rd year. Since then, she has had the pleasure of practicing medicine in New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
Dr. McDonald-Toussaint enjoys spending time with her husband of over 20 years and her 2 sons. She has a love for music, reading and the arts.
